AMIP Community _ Bug Reports _ Display delay on msn

Posted by: lpy Oct 7 2006, 03:00 PM

Before I reformatted the pc I remember the 'Display delay' used to work fine.

I reinstalled everything and am running the latest software (java, Amip beta builds, Winamp, and MSN) and it now has no effect. What could be causing this?

Thanks.

Probably AMIP Configurator is modifying the wrong config, not the one used by your player and AMIP. Check the config path in About.

Hi thanks for the quick reply.

The config path is
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\plugin.ini
which seems correct to me.

Every other setting works fine but this one. It isn't a major issue but I'm more curious as to why it did used to work before and now doesn't.

I have another install of it on another pc running Windowz XP and it has the same problem.

Do you use AMIP beta release from 24 September? Can you attach your plugin.ini?

Why do you think that it doesn't work? Does it announce without a delay or it doesn't announce at all?

Yep the one from 24th September.

Even with the default plugin.ini settings it is still the same result.

It does announce, all of that works fine, there is just no delay.

Indeed, I found a related bug, will be fixed in the next beta build. The delay doesn't work for automatic messenger integrations, however there is a workaround.

Use API commands in the preset. Like /msn.... All presets are still handles with the delay.

Another workaround is to use Parse Delay option. This will delay tag info reading and the song will be announced only after tags are read.

Thanks for your report.

I didn't want to use the Parse option because that caused the delay in the File Intergration too, and I didn't want that, but, I used the /msn command it works exactly how I want.

Thank you. problem solved smile.gif -- very handy software.

Then you probably will not like my fix. Since it makes AMIP behavior consistent and the display delay will affect all the integrations.
