AMIP Community _ Bug Reports _ Extra lines added in Skype format box

Posted by: tallgareth Jun 13 2007, 07:41 AM

Hi,

I enter the following in the Skype section of the AMIP Configurator;

listening to %2 by %1
(%4, %5)

but when I click OK (which closes the configurator) and then re-open it this has changed to;

listening to %2 by %1

(%4, %5)

which is what gets displayed in Skype. Any ideas why?

I'm using AMIP v2.61 for Winamp, Winamp v5.24 and Skype v3.2.0.148.

Thanks.

Can't reproduce. If you copied these lines from somewhere, try entering them manually instead, looks like some weird line end is inserted.

I've tried to put multiple lines in this text area and they are displayed correctly after restart.

i have the same issue.
while entering in aimp configurator, everytime some blanks/specialchars are added upon save (seen in skype as squares)
copied from notepad 4 lines, works better - only last line (with %name) gets corrupted
(is it an unix/dos linebreak issue?! or not ready for skype 3.5?! or OS Language specific?!)

next is with callback/web
want to restore my original msg on stop/exit, so i write there

CODE
/skype this is my message which has multiple lines

in one line (just for testing)
but after save and reopen, aimp displays
CODE
/skype this is my
  message which has
  multiple lines

and only sets the first line in skype :/ (note the preceeding spaces!)

how am i able to set multilines there?!
please recheck with current skype/winamp

Did you copy this line from somewhere? I don't understand how line endings can be added automatically in the single line?

I tested with latest AMIP Configurator and it saves lines correctly. And it's not language specific.

I've noticed another bug that the line endings are stripped if there are AMIP variables and the last char is truncated, I'll investigate it.

Ah, it was a skype display problem, when clicking on the message, everything is displayed fine. So I don't see any problem. Do you run latest version of AMIP Configurator?

Exit callback didn't work for Skype, will be fixed for the next build.

To use multiple lines, type:

/skype line1\nline2

could be really some copy/paste problem; while writing it normal, it worked there (callback)
i think i got theese specialchars form copy&paste out of the skype box!

should you filter all such special chars?! just do a regex for alphanumeric chars or so?!

Edit:
Skype Integration within aimp worked fine (multilines with normal "Enter") - pressed ok, save, works.
but after inserting a word in the middle of the line gives me again the linebreaks in skype. after repoening the configurator, there are shown there, too. :/

Edit2
the funny thing is - everytime i press OK, the 2 special linebreaks are ADDED - saved it 5 times, got 10 linebraks :/
must have something to do while editing, because if i clear everything and enter it the first time it works!!!

Can you clarify "but after inserting a word in the middle of the line"?

uhm... well, english isnt my first language ^^

enter 3 lines
klick ok -> works
reopen amip and change something (a word in the second line or so tongue.gif)
klick ok -> garbled linebreaks

doesnt happen, when i delete the box and enter it the first time, happens only upon editing!
