Hi!
I think that the original problem is with iTunes but maybe someone has a workaround for it. Despite tagging my files with mp3tag to ISO 8859-1 format AMIP doesn't spam german umlauts and special characters correctly. It looks like that -> "np. Eläkeläiset - Dementikon Keppihumppa (Humppa-Akatemia (CD2), 2000)" In foobar the text is displayed correctly. It seems that iTunes just ignores the ISO format. Does someone have a solution for this or is there no way getting this repaired? Thx in advance! |

Search the forum for "unicode".

But whats my problem got to do with unicode?
I know that unicode isn't supported by AMIP, but the ISO 8859-1 tag is correctly displayed with the foobar player but not with iTunes. Are you suggesting that i will need unicode to get the AMIP/iTunes combination to work with special characters? |

Yep, AMIP gets tags from iTunes directly and something goes wrong during conversion. So it will not work until Unicode is fully supported.
