Winamp 5.23
Skype 2.5.0.130
AMIP 2.53
AMIP Configurator 0.30

Hi there, I installed all of the above successfully. But the song details are not being displayed in my Skype message.

I configured AMIP - Skype Integration: Enabled
Winamp API access allowed by Skype.
Skype status does NOT say that API is used by Winamp.

Why is this not working for me?

FYI: Before I used AMIP to display song details in Skype, I used another Winamp plugin called SkyAmp. This worked fine. But then I decided to use AMIP instead, so I uninstalled SkyAmp, and installed the new AMIP Configurator. I already had AMIP and an older version of Configurator installed.

EDIT: I just uninstalled and reinstalled all of the above, except Winamp. But it's still not working sad.gif

Maybe Skype is configured to block Winamp, check your Skype settings and make sure that Winamp is allowed to use API.

Winamp.exe is listed in the API list of Skype, so Winamp is not blocked by Skype. What else could it be?

Listed as Allowed or Blocked? Can you provide a screenshot? What is gen_irc.dll file date in Winamp\plugins?

You are using extremely old AMIP that doesn't support Skype, you must close Winamp, download and install the latest AMIP 2.53 beta (released a couple of weeks ago). Check that gen_irc.dll date is correct (24 july 2006).

By the way, AMIP Skype tutorial says what version you must have is AMIP 2.53 (2006-03-14) or later. While yours is obviously older. Why didn't you read the requirements first?

But I *am* using version 2.53 of AMIP. Also in my first post I stated that I installed AMIP 2.53. Check this Winamp screenshot:

But just in case, I just downloaded the latest AMIP (link) from the website. I then closed Winamp and installed it. After that I rechecked the date of gen_irc.dll and it still sais 18 april 2005.

What's going on? huh.gif

EDIT: I just uninstalled AMIP and made sure that gen_irc.dll was removed. After that I re-installed AMIP 2.53, and the date of the newly created gen_irc.dll is again 18 april 2005. Is it possible that the wrong .dll is included in the installer?

Your link is for the old AMIP verison, it's not beta, it's the release. Check beta page for new versions. There were about 100 AMIP 2.53 releases, they can be distinguished by the installer date. I always mention the date of the beta release in my announcements. The version you have is not the latest beta 2.53, the link you gave points to the release version, not beta. Be careful from where you download the files and check installer dates.

Ok, this was very confusing, but I understand now. I should have looked at the release dates instead. I just installed the latest beta and everything works as espected.

Thank you very much for your help and keep up the good work wink.gif
