Sometimes AMIP doesnt get national chars, it changes "" to "e", "" to "x" and "" to "f" :S
but it only happens with some titles |

AMIP doesn't work with Unicode yet, it only supports tags in the platform default encoding. If the tag has different encoding, AMIP can't read it correctly.

Hi Sergej, I'm using AMIP for about 2 years now and would say that the lack of Unicode support for tagging data is the only thing I'm really missing. As I fancy scandinavian music (featuring many /, / and in titles) AMIP often writes incorrect strings. I pondered on a workaround: Converting the tag encoding into the system locale (western european) - keeping the scandinavian special chars. Do you happen to know a tool that does it? (Simple command line will do.) Greetings Mikka |

Sorry, I'm not aware of such tools. well, my issue is that it USED to work and now doesn't. i have been using AMIP for my sig for years now - 2005, since the previous version - and it always worked with characters such as , , , etc. however, i decided i was going to change my image - first time in a year or so - so i downloaded the latest version of everything, just to be sure, prior to working with it. image change successful, but special characters aren't displaying. at first i thought it was the fonts i chose. however, after messing around with it for an hour or so, i decided to check my amipweb.out file just for kicks. here's what's going on: -d "title=Bjvrk+-+Vertabrae+By+Vertabrae" instead of Bjrk. so it's wrong before it even reaches my server. so i downgraded AMIP (tried anyway, seemed to work), i downgraded winamp, etc., and am still stuck with the same issue. and i'm serious, i'm not making this up or dreaming it - it used to work prior to things i changed yesterday. honest! any thoughts? |

Your system regional settings can affect the conversion. Make sure system locale is correctly set.
