Nm... ignore this post, the bug reoccured and it isnt zone alarm at all now. stupid thing has stopped working again and i cant seem to fix it at all :/

Just as the topic says, Zone Alarm Firewall completely stops AMIP working after a while. Meaning it no longer announces to either mirc, foobar, or msn

Usually AMIP only stops announcing temporarily and if i close/reopen foobar the problem is fixed, however occassionally AMIP stops working totally, and it took me ages to figure out what the problem was. It was driving me nuts.
I found out today that apparently closing and reopening zone alarm fixes it, going to try fiddling with program permissions within the actual firewall to try and stop this problem from reoccuring.

(i'm guessing the firewall doesnt like the program rewriting the registry so often, so it blocks it after a period. Either that or it doesnt like the program sending data to other applications on the computer after a while)

This issue usually only occurs after i've been playing a buncha songs for hours

Info for you:
ZoneAlarm Pro version:6.1.744.000
Foobar 0.9.4.2
mIRC 6.16
Windows Live Messenger 8.1.0178.00
AMIP 0.90 for foobar

p.s. This post was more of an "FYI" post, rather than expecting you to do anything to fix this. Could be a good addition to the FAQ? seeing as im sure im not the only one who's had this problem

edit to add:
Foobar at first glance appeared to already have the maximum access allowed within zone alarm, but by clicking on the foobar application entry, and then clicking the options button, i think i found the option to stop this bug from reoccuring
(By ticking the "Allow Application Interaction" box)

I guessed it was foobar i needed to give the access to, but if this issue reoccurs i'll try giving it to the amip.exe too (i figured that was just the installer file, and didnt need its access changed)

EDIT TO ADD:

more info to add to the previous post....

ive been getting this problem again sporadically... usually it's fixed by restarting foobar, however sometimes it requires a restart of ZA too.

sometimes neither of those work and it just doesnt want to announce to any program for a while, rebooting the comp doesnt fix it either, etc.

one of the times this happened to me i fixed it by reinstalling foobar and amip (which was annoying, lost my config :/)
the other time i just left it and it started working again over 6 hours later

I hope some of this info's useful to someone
