I installed the newest AMIP and noticed that the config in winamp said it wasn't being maintained and that I should use AMIP Configurator to be able to set all the options. I downloaded it and installed, but when I tried starting it, nothing happens. I've restarted both winamp and the computer etc. AMIP does work (it uses the settings I set up before I installed AMIP Configurator), but I ca't change any configuration settings anymore.
The configurator.properties file says it's using this: JAVA=C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\javaw.exe Now, I read the readme and it said to use JRE 1.4.x and I did try installing that (it didn't report anything being wrong during install) but nothing has changed, even after restarting windows. I'm really curious as to why it won't work as I've yet to come across anyone else having the same problem! |

New Configurator doesn't use JDK location from the configurator.properties file any more. It has smart launcher that finds JDK/JRE automatically and uses it to run. The search is done via registry. It looks like your JDK entries in the registry are not valid.
You may need to reinstall JDK/JRE 1.5.0_06 from scratch. Remove it and then install again. You may also try to uninstall older JDK and JRE versions. |

You may also try to uninstall older JDK and JRE versions. Ok, I uninstalled all JDK/JRE versions, installed J2RE 1.4.2, restarted and tried again. Got an exception and was told the aplication would exit. Ok, java update told me there was an update (J2RE 1.5.0 update 6) and so I let it install. After a restart I'm back where I started. Could it have anything to do with it being SE (swedish)? I guess I could force it to let me install it as english and see if that helps.. Is it just me or isn't this whole affair with language/location auto-detection getting a bit out of hand? |

You can try running cmd.exe in the directory with jConfigurator.exe file and typing:
java -jar jConfigurator.exe You may need to specify the full path to jave.exe if it's not in %PATHT%. Let me know if there are any errors in the console. |

Let me know if there are any errors in the console. I did that and got the following: Invalid or corrupt jarfile jConfigurator.exe And I have tried uninstalling and re-installing AMIP Configurator.. This is just unreal ^^ |

i just updated to the configurator and now when i paste from clipboard it only displays the variables and not what they should resolve to (ie: it shows %name instead of "sonata arctica - gravenimage"). another problem is after you set a key to be used as a hotkey you cant get rid of it (you press delete and it will just add "delete" as the key).
using AMIP 2.53 |

You can't disable this hotkey, you can only change it. As for the %name, make sure that player is playing the song at the moment when you press hotkey. BTW, what player do you use?
This is what I get: java version "1.5.0_06" Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05) Java HotSpot Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode, sharing) Weird, I have the same version and it works fine for me. |
