This is so frustrating because I love this program.

AMIP will show its splash screen, then all of my programs will slow down (especially Milkdrop2). Then, after this is done, I see a blank generic Java window in the taskbar which apparently has a window. I cannot interact with it at all.

Both x86 and x64 versions of JRE 7 are installed. Any tips?

Does it help if you uninstall 64-bit JRE?
Installing JRE 6 is recommended for AMIP Configuration, since version 7 has not been tested yet and is not ready for production yet according to many bug reports.

Taking your advice, I uninstalled both JRE 7 and the configurator, then restarted my computer.

I downloaded JRE 6 update 27 in both x86 and x64 varieties, then installed just the x86 version. Launching the Config gave me a generic error message.
Then I installed the x64 version on top of it. Launching the Config, I get the "blank Java window" problem.

I removed the x64 version once again to no improvement. sad.gif

FYI the plugin itself works beautifully...
np: Pearl Jam - Garden "Ten"

I can even delve into plugin.ini and change the hotkey as well as the string...
n6p: Pearl Jam - Alive "Ten"

I numbered every instance of "np" in the ini with a number to find out that this was coming from DDE_STRING4. I modified the default hotkey to use Q instead of Z and require all four modifiers to fire. Of course I would rather just use the configurator rather than make risky direct modifications like this, cool though they are....

Please tell me if you think screen captures would help you diagnose the problem with the configurator.

EDIT: Also, thank you for your assistance.

Try running configurator using As Administrator right click menu.
It works fine on my Windows 7 64-bit with JDK or JRE 1.6 installed.

Try the new build, IIRC I've changed the launcher there:
http://amip.tools-for.net/files/beta/amip_config.zip .

I appreciate your continued assistance and have tried both of these suggestions, but I am still not getting results on my end.

Something is seriously wrong here. The configurator applet reports a ridiculously high CPU usage regardless of the administrator bit:

Same thing with the new version:

I am not a developer, but do you think installing the JDK over the JRE would help?

I have no more ideas, sorry. Unfortunately I can't reproduce this problem on my machine.

That's quite okay, thank you for your assistance.

Would you mind if I wrote my own configurator for personal use?
