AMIP Community _ Support _ another Yahoo! messenger issue

Posted by: foobar newbie Oct 11 2008, 08:12 PM

hello!

it seems like AMIP can't support the version of YM im currently using.
i have looked anywhere for the solution but to no avail, please forgive me. biggrin.gif

these are the versions i'm currently using now:

Yahoo! Messenger (9.0.0.1912)
foobar2000 v0.9.5.6
AMIP v2.63 from amip_foobar_09.zip

the steps i did:
1) stopped foobar2000
2) installed AMIP plugin and configurator
3) checked settings from configurator (ym is integrated by default)
didn't bother to change anything from here
4) stopped ym
5) deleted everything found under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager\profiles\<my id>\Custom Msgs], checked my user id in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager] and it's fine
6) started ym and login
7) started foobar2000 and played a song
8) then a Status Change Confirmation pops up from ym with message:
The message "" will be displayed next to your name on other people's Messenger Lists.
...
clicked OK.
9) the result, YM's status message has not changed... (of course coz string in message is empty)
10) checked the Custom Msgs entry in registry and found the ff created:
"1_DND" -> a dword set as 0 value
"1_W" -> a string set as null (empty)
11) i played another song and this time, clicked Cancel from Status Change Confirmation window.
checked Custom Msgs entry and found out this entry:
"5" -> a string set as "np: <artist - title of song playing>"

are the new registry entries (1_DND & 1_W) supported?
did i miss anything to configure?

i really want this plugin to work coz it's cool. cool.gif
thanks for sharing your work sir! smile.gif

Another Foobar user here and I confirm the above issue is present here too ... Using Foobar 956, Amip 264 and Yahoo Messenger 9.0.0.2018 .

I believe this has something to do with new "Messenger > Manage updates that I broadcast" setting.

no, that's not the cause, other announcers (like some winamp plugins) work. Seems like Yahoo Messenger isn't supported no more.

This problem is addressed in AMIP 2.65 which should work fine with 8 and 9 versions of the Yahoo Messenger. Please update your AMIP.
