I'm using Foobar 0.9.3.1 and Yahoo! Messenger 7.0.2.120 and everything works fine except that when i exit foobar or it finishes playing a song, AMIP changes my status to somthing like t[] with a busy icon!
Does anybody know what's wrong?
There is another problem, i donno why AMIP puts a busy icon next to my status for some songs (Almost 50% of them). i dun want my buddies to think i'm busy. any soloution?
Can you find any pattern for this? Like songs begins with the same special character or contain some unusual character?
Actually on exit AMIP places empty string into status (clears it). It works perfectly for me.
I have no idea how the empty string can turn into the chars you specified and into the busy icon.
Actually, There is no pattern! because sometimes AMIP puts a busy icon for a specific file, and sometimes it doesn't, so i guess it's not related to file name or its tags ..
and about that funny string. it always happens when i exit foobar or foobar finishes a playlist.
HOWEVER, AMIP is one of the cooolest foobar components i've seen. keep up the good work serge
It may be caused by the locale and national characters you are using. System regional settings can also affect it.
What kind of regional settings can cause problem??
Because I've enabled "Complex scripts and Right-to Left languages" in Windows XP so that i can add Farsi Keyboard. And also I've changed my country to "Iran" .
Can these really have an effect AMIP?
Yes, the problem may be related to your regional settings, I don't know if the problem in AMIP, in AMIP/Yahoo integration or in Yahoo itself.
Well, I tried to delete all of my Custom Messages in Registry as you had told someone in another thread and guess what? it worked! Now there is no random busy icon. But it still shows that funny string when i stop playing instead showing a blank status.
UPDATE: I upgraded my Yahoo! Messenger to version 8 and now everything seems to works fine!
